Lockdown re-imposed in Rajouri, OPD in GMC associated hospitals closed | KNO

Rajouri, July 11 (KNO): Day after the district recorded the biggest single-day spike, the administration in Rajouri on Saturday re-imposed lockdown in many areas of the district to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. Besides, the Out Patient Department (OPD) in the Government Medical College (GMC) associated hospitals were also closed till further orders, officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Officials said that 51 fresh COVID cases were detected in the district on Friday. “A day after the biggest single-day spike, the administration has re-imposed lockdown in Rajouri town including Jawahar Nagar, Khandli, Salani, Panja, Gujjar Mandi, Malik market, old town, Kheora and Darhali bridge areas and strict restrictions have been imposed everywhere,” they said. They informed that the decision to re-impose the lockdown was taken to prevent community transmission in the area, adding that the decision was taken during a meeting held late Friday evening. Meanwhile, Tehsildar Manjakote and other staff members of the Tehsil have been kept under home quarantined after a Coronavirus patient visited the office two days ago while as nearly six employees of Orthopedic ward of GMC associated hospital Rajouri have also been kept under home quarantined after a patient who was undergoing treatment at the hospital was tested positive. Moreover, OPD services in GMC associated hospital Rajouri have also been closed till further orders. A health official told KNO that after a woman, who was undergoing treatment in GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri for two days, was tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday, the OPD services have been closed for sanitization—(KNO)
